Sinful Nutrition Where Every Veggie Has A Dark Side

We think it’s good to stuff our bodies with vegetables as they are nutritious and healthy, but do you know even vegetables could possibly have a darker side as well?  Not every food that seems to be innocently healthy is totally healthy. There is always a sinful aspect of nutrition. So, here we’ll talk about sinful nutrition.

Sinful Nutrition Where Every Veggie Has A Dark Side

We know that vegetables are healthy and packed with multiple nutrients and vitamins but not every vegetable is totally sinless in regard to its nature. In addition to healthy nutrition, there is also sinful nutrition

Although vegetables are a healthy addition to your diet with multiple health benefits, it is important to know their sinful side as well because not every veggie is as innocent as they might look.

For instance, some vegetables like potatoes can be as harmful as junk foods. They are high in starch, which causes weight gain, and eating a great number of potatoes puts you at an increased risk of Type II Diabetes. The most favorite potato snack, french fries also contain high amounts of unhealthy fats. Broccoli and Brussels sprouts are high in sulfur, which causes gas, bloating, and some other digestion issues. They also contain goitrogens that affect thyroid function.

Not all veggies are Innocent in terms of their nutrition like vegetables from the cruciferous family such as cauliflower and cabbage as they cause goiter. Some veggies like tomatoes and eggplants have solanine that is toxic if consumed in high doses.

Carrots also cause increased blood sugar levels and tomatoes are also known to increase the risk of prostate cancer.

It is no doubt that vegetables are healthy and packed with nutrients and fiber that are good for health but they are also packed with calories. For example, a small potato contains more than 200 calories with 4g of fat. A single piece of corn has 300 calories with 100 g of sugar. One serving of peas contains 500 calories with 40 g of fat.

So, it is important to have a closer look at the nutritional content of vegetables before eating them and considering them to be guilt-free.

Some vegetables top the list of having a dark side than other veggies. Let’s have a closer view of the sinful nutrition of veggies.
